Map&Guide Fleet / Truck Navigator 5.2 Update
REUTLINGEN, 24. February 2009.
In collaboration with Map&Guide, CarTFT.com proudly presents at the CeBIT 2009 a intermediate update for the navigation software Fleet Navigator / Truck Navigator.
Additionally to a map update (Navteq Q2/2008), the new version also supports Windows Vista and PayTMC services. Furthermore, the language selection was extended to 18 lan-guages.
New maps
With the new maps (Q2/2008), the coverage of the truck restrictions (only with the Truck Navigator) have been again, substantially extended, and the availability of these attributes in the navigation software has been made available to the following countries: Next to Ger-many, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, France, and Great Britain now Denmark, Finland, Spain, Italy, Norway, Sweden as well as Poland are also supported.
The software offers 18 languages
The following 18 languages offer either a female or a male voice as speaker: Balearics, Czech, Danish, German, English, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Italian, Norwegian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovenian, Slovak, Swedish and Turkish.
Especially for eastern European drivers, the handling and use was eased due to the exten-sion of the language support.
Support for Windows Vista and PayTMC services
Also new in version 5.2 is the support for Windows Vista and PayTMC services like „TMCpro“ and „Trafficmaster“.
The navigation software is available as PC and / or PDA version. As well as the PND devices with a 5” and 7” display are available.
The new Version 5.2 is available at the CeBIT fair booth on 03/03/2009.
About Map&Guide Truck Navigator
The transportation optimizers from PTV started more than two years ago, as the first provider of truck navigation. The software Map&Guide Truck Navigator entails a number of features for truck navigation. The manufacturer not only integrated the existing data from the manu-facturer of the maps, but also invented special optimization applications for commercial transportation: As soon as the truck profile is activated, suburban areas are strictly avoided. Furthermore, the software tries to avoid u-turn commands after wrong turns, as often as pos-sible. Optionally, the user can also decide weather he would like to avoid cross-town links or smaller streets in the navigation.
