Hello!
I connected a camera in my CTF700 today and the auto select cable to reverse light of my car.
When I select reverse gear, the display switched to rear camera input (CCD input), but now it does not switch back to VGA mode or any other input! I tried to switch off the display and on again but it didn't help! I also disconnected the camera and the auto select cable but the display remains to CCD input and does not changes!
Anybody can help?

If you send us the display and we can see that the defect was not caused by external influence, then RMA is free also on un-sealed displays.

The same problem just happened with my CID650. It works on rearview camera only. This happened after I short circuit the power by misstake outside the unit. (It can happen)

Is this the same problem? I heard a relay inside unit go clic-clic-clic during this short circuit. Maybe the relay inductance damaged electronics? I have also tried disconnecting power for an hour...

Is there a way to reset the device?

Btw. (My remote never worked either)

This is in fact my second unit, only the first one I bought from panda innovation in California. I don't know how to ask my wife for the money to a third....

About warranty. If there is a known design problem and a unit is found with that fault it should not matter what the unit looks like. It should still be replaced.

BR, B-O

Edit: I just realized that the DVD does not have power either! It's like there is no switched 12V (but there is!)

Edit 2: I have revers enginered a bit and found that the switched power goes thru a series resistor of 150 ohm down to what is probably a zener. On that zener the voltage is 5.65V when ignition is on. This means that there will be a power loss on the resistor in excess of 0.5W ! Why? I can beleive that there are other less good design choises too...

I also disconnected the auto select cable(orange) but the display remains to CCD input and does not changes!

When i disconect all the cables, (i just connect a 12V on the 12v DC in) CCD input does not change.

I have just this probleme on my display, the remote good work(just AV fonction not work)

No short circuit.
No clic-clic-clic inside display.

When the auto select cable is connect to 12v, I have Blue screen with "CCD input"
When the auto select cable isn't connect to 12v, I have Black screen with "CCD input"

Whith the remote, i can acces to the "MENU".

Well, you can not compare CTF700 and CID650. Also, if you cut cables yourselves, then we really can not help much via the forum Cheesy
-> Please apply for an RMA number. And of course, if you caused the defect yourselves, then we will charge for the service. However the server charge will be less than the display value Wink
In fact, we usually charge between 30-100 EUR, depending on the defect type.

I took for granted that there was no warranty if item was tampered with in any way.

I was quite surpriced to read in this thread that warranty might still be valid dependent on what you've done. That is good, because I think a lot of us have to make changes to be able to install. Just being able to send it in to be fixed is a good thing!

So my question is:
1) Do you sell parts too? If I know I'd fried the LCD controller will you sell me such a pcb?

FYI
My problem is solved. The monitor went into power-down when I short circuited power outside unit (=battery). I had to reconnect the buttons to press power-on

Only in individual case. Problem is that often there are more parts damaged and this could end in another uneccessary 2-3x Send-In/Out operations.
