Intel D945GSEJT Half-Height (with integrated Atom 1.6Ghz CPU, Johnstown) [FANLESS]

In the last years Intel already has brought some movement into the market by launching their low-priced Mini-ITX Mainboards (D201GLY2(A), D945GCLF(2)) but now again is starting a new revolution with a new generation of mainboards.
The power consumption of the new Intel „Half-Height“ mainboard, when comparing to his bigger brothers, has been reduced from over 30W to below 20W. This has been achieved by using the new Mobile Atom CPU which can be operated with passive cooling. And in addition Intel has managed to reduce the height to an outstanding 2 cm. This will lead to new generation of Small form factor systems with high feature density in a very small room.

Super Board ! Ich verwende es als NAS Server (FreeNAS). Der Stromverbrauch liegt mit einem 12V/60W Netzteil bei ca. 18 Watt mit einer WD5000AACS Festplatte. Also ideal für den 24h Betrieb.

Super Board ! Ich verwende es für meinen Festplattenreorder (EasyVDR) . Der Stromverbrauch liegt mit einem 12V/60W Netzteil bei ca. 20 Watt mit einer WD5000AACS Festplatte und TV-Karte. Also ideal für den 24h Betrieb.

Nice product, easy to use with linux, 1GB DDR2, external power (35W) & usb drive for hdd. 52°C for processor in idle, 60°C after 10min 100% CPU. Nice for a home server working 24/24, but seems to be good to add a silent fan to preserve hardware (seen on forums)...

Solides kleines Brett. Lediglich die Dokumentation und der Support von Intel sind verbesserungsbedürftig (Gerät wird von Intel nicht per Emailsupport unterstützt). Leistungsaufnahme sehr gut, Wärmeentwicklung passabel.

Ein Superboard. Ergänzt, wie bei einem anderen User, einen stromhungrigen 3D-Gamerechner. Er ist einzig für die Verwendung von MS-Office (Aktuell 2010) und die Internetanwendungen gedacht. Aber selbst das Mediacenter (Win7 Home Premium) bedient er im Fenstermodus ruckelfrei. Im Vollbildbodus wirds, bei mir, allerdings ruckelig im Menü (VGA 1440x900). Zu Testzwecken habe ich ein Debian-OS in der Grundkonfiguration (ohne grafische Oberfläche) erstellt. Dadurch ist es mir möglich, euch Boot-Zeiten bis zum Login zu präsentieren. (auf 2GB USB-Stick = 1:20 Min, auf ATP USB SSD 4GB = 40 Sec, auf SSD Kingston 64GB V+ = 30 Sec). Bei der Größe des Debian ist es nicht verwunderlich aber schön, das es vollkommen egal ist ob 512 MB RAM oder 2 GB RAM installiert sind. Sollte ich mir doch mal einen Webserver zusammenbauen, so wird die Basis die selbe sein. Der Stromverbrauch ist wirklich gut = 23 W bei Spitzenlast (mit ext. DVD-Brenner) im Leerlauf, ohne Brenner und unter Office liegen 16 W an. Super Sache! Von mir klare Kaufempfehlung. Zwei kleine Mankos:
1. Temperatur wird doch sehr warm, so das ich mir überlege, zum Schutz meiner Hardware, doch einen Lüfter (60x60x10) einzubauen. Lautlos ist zwar toll, aber Dauerhitze für die Hardware nicht.
2. In Verbindung mit dem MiniPC HAHE-MC-B Gehäuse und einer SSD ist eigendlich nur ein SATA-Kabel zu nennen: abgewinkelt, mit dem kurzen Haken des "L" vom Steckerwinkel weg (ich kann es nicht besser beschreiben). Die bei mir mitgelieferten SATA-Kabel sind in dem Gehäuse nicht verwendbar, weil das Gehäuse nicht verschließbar ist (gerade Stecker zu hoch). Seht euch die Produktbilder an, dann wisst ihr welches Kabel ihr braucht. M.E. ist auch nur der SATA-Anschluß neben dem IDE-Anschluß verwendbar (aus Platzgründen).
