Works OK with Linux, Slack 11 kernel 2.6.18 had built in drivers that created /dev/tts/USB0 suitable for gpsd (probably earlier kernels too, I think that is the one from /testing). I tried the bundled
Windows driver and software, but I don't recall much about them, so it can't have been too horrific. I guess they worked as described. I think the gps was happier to find satellites under Linux for some reason though.... but I can't think of a proper reason why this is that case, unless Ballmer wasthrowing chairs out of Windows at the GPS under XP? ;)

In the last 1 year, I have placed the NL-302U sirf star III usb Gps receiver in at least 4 car pc's. It is easy to install as hardware and software, it gives fast and reliable signal. I did not have a
ny quality problems. I and my customers we are absolutely satisfied from this product and I would propose it as the ideal usb Gps receiver for car pc installation.

Very good GPS receiver, i've bought two of them for my CarPC's. Good signal even among high buildings, with 9-10 locked satellites all the time, even when mounted on my dashboard (behind the windshiel
d).
Plus it has a magnetic base and nice shape.
