The BU353 GPS receiver features the new chipset SIRF4, is waterproof and has a magnetic and rugged case bottom. The integrated highly sensitive GPS Aaerial gives you a maximum receiption quality.
The connection cable can be enlarged up to 5 meters for optimal placement of the receiver. The integrated USB-to-Serial bridge eases usage. For installation you only need a small USB driver.

Works OK with Linux, Slack 11 kernel 2.6.18 had built in drivers that created /dev/tts/USB0 suitable for gpsd (probably earlier kernels too, I think that is the one from /testing). I tried the bundled Windows driver and software, but I don't recall much about them, so it can't have been too horrific. I guess they worked as described. I think the gps was happier to find satellites under Linux for some reason though.... but I can't think of a proper reason why this is that case, unless Ballmer wasthrowing chairs out of Windows at the GPS under XP? ;)
