The Atom-CPU is a perfect basis for a low-cost system. It works very energy saving and therfor is perfect for mobile usage. But also can be used as a server, Car-PC or Multimedia solutions.
Atom-CPU mainly was developed for the upcoming „Mobile Internet Devices“ (MID), which are fielded between notebooks and cell phones. „The processors were equipped in 45nm production with the worlds smallest transistors“, said Intels Vice President Sean Maloney.

We bought this motherboard for our thin client test machine.We also discovered that you don't need replacement heatsink if you don't need 5,25" compartment in Morex enclosure, you simply screw that compartment out. We built a thin client with this board, a Morex case and 515M RAM module and it works like a charm with our 2X Thin Client Server setup. We are considering buying more of this.

Using this Motherboard for my CarPC, its definitely fast enough for all the operations i need. Using it with Win XP. Boots up in a few seconds.
If you need a cheap and more or less fast CarPc, then I think this Motherboard should be your choice.

Intel have listened about the issues with the D201GLY and come up with a cheaper, faster board that can now take a PICO/M3 PSU. Well done!!! I shall be using these a lot from now on.

Excellent choix que cette carte mère qui permet d'avoir un système assez performant pour un cout modéré.
Le ventilateur peut être très fortement ralentis pour être parfaitement silencieux, voir retiré dans un environnement assez aéré.
Si l'Atom n'est pas un foudre de guerre, accompagné de 2Go de ram il suffit plus que largement sous XP pour faire tourner le système et quelques applications pas excessivement gourmandes.
La encore, le regret est le réseau en 100Mbt...
